Since Montero was put on the 15-day disabled list, Schwarber has been hitting .353 with two home runs and five RBI.

Montero had an MRI on Thursday, and he said he’s ready to return.

Before Montero hurt his thumb, he was hitting .230 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI.

The Cubs are more excited for Montero to return behind the plate where he’s caught 25 percent of base stealers, which is the best on the Cubs roster.
