A 42-year-old man crashed a vehicle a little before 9 p.m. Saturday night in Edgewater on the North Side after someone in the car with him pulled a gun and shot him in the abdomen, according to the police, who said they believe the incident was drug-related.

The man then drove off in another vehicle, which crashed in the 900 block of West Foster Avenue, the police said.

They said he was being treated at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
