Two teenagers were shot Wednesday evening in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The teenagers were standing in front of a home about 8:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Ferdinand when a person walked up to them, fired shots and then ran off, according to Chicago Police. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest and an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg.

Both teens were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
