Hillary to return for July 13 fundraiser at Laura Ricketts’ home

Hillary Clinton hits Wilmette on July 13 for a very high-dollar fundraiser hosted by Cubs board member Laura Ricketts and her wife, Brooke, as the Chicago area continues to be fertile fundraising turf for the presumptive Democratic nominee.

Laura Ricketts, a part owner of the Cubs, is among the top fundraisers for Clinton, known as a “bundler.” She also is the chairman of LPAC, the major Lesbian political action committee and a superdelegate from Illinois to the Democratic convention in Philadelphia.

Bundlers gather money from an extensive network of individuals and are valuable beyond their personal contributions because individual donations to federal campaigns are capped for each primary and general election.

The tab for an individual to attend the Ricketts lunch, with the proceeds going to the Hillary Victory Fund, is $33,400; to co-chair, a person must contribute $150,000 or raise that amount from other people.

Hillary Clinton was in Chicago on Monday for a fundraiser to benefit her main presidential campaign fund. Bill Clinton returned to Chicago last Friday night for an event to raise cash for the Hillary Victory Fund, drawing about 150 at the Clinton Midwest Finance office.

The proceeds from the Hillary Victory Fund are divided between her Hillary for America war chest for the primary and general elections, the Democratic National Committee, and 32 state parties, not including the Democratic Party of Illinois.
