A 21-year-old man was stabbedin the head Thursday evening in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The man was stabbed about 5:10 p.m. in the 5900 block of West Race Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

Police, who initially said the man suffered a gunshot wound, said the man is not cooperating with investigators.
