It’s time to sing “Come to the cabaret, old chum,” but with a twist.

The Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace, long a major suburban-based producer of musicals and the occasional comedy, is instituting a new cabaret series featuring stars of Chicago’s musical theater scene.

The shows will be staged in The English Room, an intimate space just beyond the lobby of the theater, with the first two programs in the series presented under the umbrella title of “Leading Ladies of Chicago Theater.”

E. Faye Butler, Heidi Kettenring and veteran music director Roberta Duchak will join for the initial programs at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 12. Christine Mild, Meghan Murphy and Leryn Turlington will perform at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Aug. 14. Jeremy Kahn will be the accompanist.

Tickets are $25-$45, with a $25 food and bar minimum from a menu that will include shareable plates, classic cocktails and a wide selection of wines.

For reservations call (630) 530-0111. The Drury Lane is located at 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.
