A woman was shot and seriously wounded in the West Englewood neighborhood Tuesday afternoon on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 4 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Ashland, according to Chicago Police.

The 29-year-old woman was shot in the neck and wrist. She was dropped off at the Englewood District police station at 1438 W. 63rd St. and then taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known.
