A man robbed a gas station at gunpoint Tuesday night in northwest suburban Elgin.

Officers were called at 8:07 p.m. to the Circle K gas station at 460 S. McLean Boulevard for reports of an armed robbery, according to a statement from Elgin police. A man had walked into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register before running away.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-10 white man between 18 and 25 years old, police said. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and shorts.

No injuries were reported in the robbery, according to police.
