A man was shot and a teenage boy was injured in a West Town neighborhood park Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old man was in Smith Park in the 500 block of North Campbell about 5:30 p.m. when he got into an argument with two other males, according to Chicago Police. During the argument, one of the males pulled out a gun and started shooting.

The man was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

A 15-year-old boy who was also in the park at the time of the attack was taken to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, police said. Investigators initially believed that he had suffered a graze wound to the thigh, but doctors later determined he had actually suffered bruising that might have been caused by flying debris. He was listed in good condition.

A police source said the 20-year-old is a documented gang member and investigators believe the shooting was gang-related.
