An 18-year-old man was shot in the left leg Saturday afternoon in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened about 3 p.m. in the 7200 block of South Spaulding and he took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, according to Chicago Police.

The man told detectives he heard gunfire and felt pain, but was otherwise uncooperative with the investigation, police said.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
