Man shot in leg on South Side

A man was shot in the leg Saturday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 29-year-old was outside in the 1200 block of West 71st Street when he heard shots and realized he’d been struck about 2 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Police said the shooting likely was gang-related.
