A woman was shot early Wednesday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Officers responding about 12:43 a.m. to reports of shots fired in the 3200 block of West 62nd Street found the 37-year-old woman on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the right buttock, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
