A man was shot and critically wounded Tuesday night in the South Shore neighborhood.

About 11:55 p.m., the 33-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 6700 block of South East End when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the left leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

A 38-year-old man was gunned down on the same block less than six hours earlier Tuesday.
