A man was critically wounded in a shooting early Thursday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The 24-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 7300 block of South Morgan about 12:06 a.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
