Man shot in Lawndale

A man was shot late Wednesday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired at 10:18 p.m. in the 4200 block of West 16th Street stopped an SUV that was seen driving away from the area, according to Chicago Police.

A 19-year-old man inside the SUV had suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. His condition was stabilized.
