A masked suspect armed with a semi-automatic handgun held up a bank Thursday morning in south suburban Olympia Fields.

The takeover robbery happened at 9:52 a.m. at the Fifth Third Bank branch at 2440 Lincoln Hwy. in Olympia Fields, FBI spokesman Garrett Croon said.

The suspect was described as a black male between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot with a medium build, according to the FBI. He was last seen wearing a gray ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt with a multicolored front, dark jeans, black shoes with white soles, and carrying a blue and black duffel bag.

He left the bank via a walk-through and is believed to have gotten into a getaway car.
