SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Dinosaur Bar-B-Que’s foray into the barbecue-loving Midwest has gone up in smoke with the closing of its year-old Chicago restaurant.

The Syracuse-based chain of barbecue and live music joints says its restaurant on the city’s North Side closed for good Wednesday night. The company removed the restaurant from its website Thursday.

The restaurant — the company’s first outside the Eastern time zone — opened in April 2015.

The company isn’t giving a reason for the closing, which leaves Dinosaur with nine locations in these cities: Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, Troy, Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York; Newark, New Jersey; Stamford, Connecticut; and Baltimore.
