The Rybicki boys doubled down on the Fourth of July with their first muskies.

First Jake, 14, caught a 35-incher on a Suick in the morning as they fished Eagle Lake in Ontario. In the afternoon, Evan, 11, caught a 40-incher on a chartreuse Buchertail.

The next day, Evan (center with proud dad Brad), caught a 49-incher, on the same Buchertail.

They were staying at North Shore Lodge and fishing weeds in 10-11 feet of water.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and good stories, runs Wednesdays on the Sun-Times outdoors page. The story part matters as much as the big fish part, as this FOTW amply shows.
