A man was killed Friday in a hit-and-run collision in the the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

About 1:50 p.m., the driver of a yellow truck disobeyed a red light in the 200 block of East 33rd Street and struck a pickup truck, according to Chicago Police.

The 37-year-old driver of the pickup was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the fatality, but did not provide additional details.

The driver of the yellow truck got out and ran away, police said. He was located nearby a short time later and taken into custody. Charges were pending.
