A 42-year-old woman was found dead in a vacant lot in the West Pullman neighborhood early Friday on the Far South Side, according to Chicago Police.

At 5:25 a.m., officers called for a well-being check found the woman unresponsive in the lot in the 300 block of East 120th Place, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:33 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Her home address was unknown.

An autopsy Saturday did not rule on the cause or manner of her death, with final results pending further investigation.

Area South detectives have launched a death investigation.
