2 critically injured by bricks falling from West Side building

Two people were left in critical condition after they were struck by coping that fell from a building in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The two males were in the 700 block of South Kenneth about 4:47 p.m. when a building’s coping — bricks near the roof — fell and hit them, according to Fire Department officials.

One male was taken Stroger Hospital and the other to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the fire department. They were both listed in critical condition, but their ages and further details were not immediately available.
