A 19-year-old man was shot to death in the Brighton Park neighborhood Sunday afternoon on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened about 3:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of South Kedzie.

Gregory Chacon suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:25 p.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 4300 block of South California.

An uncooperative witness told investigators that a newer-model black vehicle approached Chacon and someone inside fired numerous shots, police said. The vehicle took off northbound after the shooting.

A police source said the victim was a documented gang member.
