A 21-year-old man was shot and critically wounded Sunday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

He was standing on the sidewalk about 10:35 p.m. in the 300 block of South Kildare when someone in a black car opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital with gunshot wounds to the right shoulder and armpit, according to Chicago Police.
