A 19-year-old woman was shot and critically wounded Thursday evening in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The woman was in a vehicle in the 0-100 block of East 105th Street about 5:55 p.m. when multiple suspects walked up and at least one fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Shermain Sargent, 41, is accused of beating Timothy Ash, 74, on Jan. 7 in the 6400 block of South King Drive. Ash died Jan. 12 of injuries suffered from the assault, the medical examiner reported.
