No injuries were reported Wednesday morning when a vehicle caught fire in a garage in northwest suburban Elgin.
Firefighters responded at 7:22 a.m. to a report of a vehicle on fire at a two-story home’s attached garage in the 3100 block of Friendship Street, according to a statement from the Elgin Fire Department.
The blaze was extinguished before any fire spread to the home, fire officials said.
The residents got out of the building before firefighters arrived and there were no injuries reported, fire officials said. One person was evaluated at the scene for anxiety, but refused transport.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and damages were estimated at about $5,000, fire officials said.
