Moon Alert

We have the “all clear” today to do business. The Moon is in Gemini.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Avoid arguments with romantic partners. Avoid arguments with your kids. Avoid arguments about sports. Avoid arguments about social occasions, especially with restaurants and hotels. Avoid arguments! (I think you get the picture.) And if you skate through this day without arguments — bravo!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This is the classic day for a domestic quarrel with someone close. It might relate to home repairs or decorating projects. But this kind of argument is ego-oriented. If you can lighten up, things will get better. What about humor? (Everybody likes a kidder, but nobody lends him money.)

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Count to three before responding to others today because knee-jerk reactions will get you in trouble. Your interaction with daily contacts, especially related to your job, could be irritating. This means you have to think before you speak to avoid escalating an already delicate situation.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Arguments about possessions or money are likely today. The irony is that if you sidestep these arguments and difficult discussions, you have lots of mental energy to bring to bear on financial matters. If you blow your cool, you might blow your advantage.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Mercury is in your sign, and today it is at odds with fiery Mars. This means everyone is looking for a fight! Protect yourself by being noble and regal. (“We” don’t stoop to fighting.) You can adopt this same persona if verbally attacked by anyone. (“We” refuse to get involved.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Something going on behind the scenes roils your peace of mind today. In fact, you might be so irritated that you want to give someone a piece of your mind. But is this wise? Your temporary satisfaction from mouthing off will be short-lived. Be cool.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Although you are an excellent debater, you don’t like arguing with others. Therefore, avoid nasty debates about financial matters with friends. And most especially, don’t get involved with a group. Steer clear of delicate matters, at least until Monday, which is a better day for these discussions.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Do not get involved in a heated argument with a parent, boss, VIP or the police today because why would you do this? It’s a no-brainer. If there is something important you have to say and this person has authority or clout, wait until Monday. Do yourself this favor.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a bad day for discussions about politics, religion and race because people are looking for a fight. Therefore, steer clear of controversial topics. Remember: “A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.”

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Squabbles about inheritances, shared property, taxes and debt are likely today. Or it might be about funding. Whatever the case, be diplomatic, courteous and patient because why lose a friend over this? Also, who wants to end up with egg on their face? Not you. (Ketchup helps.)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Either you are prepared to argue with someone today or you will attract someone to you who wants to argue. Because this person might be a boss, parent, partner or close friend, why walk into this no-win situation? You won’t be happy; they won’t be happy. Anger only serves to make people miserable.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You will likely encounter difficulty with people at work today — co-workers or customers. Consider this an opportunity to practice patience. And it is an opportunity because when everything is fine and hunky-dory, you cannot practice patience because you don’t need to be patient. Capisce?

If Your Birthday Is Today

Businessman-philanthropist Li Ka-shing (1928 ) shares your birthday today. You are creative, practical, optimistic and persevering. You are also an excellent friend and mentor to others. Something you’ve been involved with for nine years will end now to make room for something new. Although this will be a year of service to others, it is also a great year to travel. Get ready for a fresh, new cycle waiting in your future!
