A man donned a cowboy hat and surgical mask while robbing a bank inside a Jewel-Osco store late Friday afternoon in northwest suburban Glendale Heights.

Just before 5 p.m., the robber walked up to the TCF Bank branch at 2164 Bloomingdale Road, handed the teller a note demanding money and made off through the north exit of the store with an unspecified amount of cash, according to the FBI and Glendale Heights police.

The man, thought to be between 40 and 50 years old, did not show a weapon, and no one was hurt, authorities said.

He stood about 6-feet with a medium build, wearing a black cowboy hat, black suit and a light blue shirt, with a white surgical mask over his face, authorities said.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700; or police at (630) 260-6070.
