Two lanes of Lake Shore Drive downtown will be closed overnight for nearly two weeks beginning Monday evening for work on the new Navy Pier Flyover bridge.

The two easternmost lanes of Lake Shore Drive will close between Illinois Street and Grand Avenue between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Monday through Aug. 12, according to a statement from the Chicago Department of Transportation.

The east half of the sidewalk on northbound lower Lake Shore Drive will also being closed between Illinois and Grand.

The lane closures will allow for the erection and installation of enclosure posts on the new Navy Pier Flyover pedestrian and bike bridge between Lake Shore Drive and Lake Point Tower, according to the statement.
