A man was shot in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side Monday night.

The 29-year-old was standing with a group of people in the 7200 block of South Artesian about 8:30 p.m. when someone walked up and opened fire, striking him in the leg, police said.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but his condition was not known, police said.
