Chicago Park District day camp programs begin Tuesday, and space is still available for kids across the city.

Standard six-week day camps run from July 5 – August 12, typically from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. or 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Programs are offered for most ages under 16, and many parks offer early-morning and late-day sessions as well.

Fees vary, but “no child will be turned away for inability to pay,” the park district says.

Activities include field trips, nature exploration, sports, water time and games. Campers will also read at least 30 minutes per day.

As of Monday, spots were available at many of the city’s hundreds of parks. Check the park district website, email daycamp@chicagoparkdistrict.com or call (312) 742-7529 for more information.
