A man was shot early Monday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 21-year-old was standing outside about 4:10 a.m. near West Cortland Street and North Mason Avenue when a white SUV drove by and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the shoulder and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
