Bond was denied Tuesday for a man charged with the shooting of an 18-year-old earlier this year in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Giovanni Hernandez, 18, faces felony counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm, according to Chicago Police.

Hernandez shot another 18-year-old man in the groin and thigh in a gang-related attack about noon on Feb. 15 in the 2700 block of South Pulaski, police said. The other man was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Hernandez, of the 2700 block of South Millard, was arrested about 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of South Troy, police said.

He appeared in court Tuesday, where a judge ordered him held without bond, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. His next court date is July 11.
