A man was shot and critically wounded early Tuesday in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The 26-year-old was walking through an alley in the 6200 block of South Drexel about 12:20 a.m. when three males confronted him and one of them opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
