A man and a woman were found shot inside a home Tuesday night in west suburban Westchester.

Officers responding about 9 p.m. to a call of shots fired near Newcastle Avenue and Devonshire Street found two people inside a home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement from Westchester police.

The man and woman, both 24 years old, were taken to a hospital, police said. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the woman needed surgery for her wounds.

Police are searching for a dark-colored sedan with wrap-around tail lights in connection with the shooting. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Westchester police at (708) 345-0060. Callers can remain anonymous if desired.
