A man was shot in the leg late Tuesday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 22-year-old was standing outside about 11:35 p.m. in the 4800 block of South Winchester when someone wearing a white t-shirt opened fire from the corner of 49th and Winchester, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the left leg and taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said, adding that the man is a documented gang member.
