A woman was shot early Wednesday in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 19-year-old was walking with a male in the 5300 block of South Rockwell about 1 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

The woman may not have been the intended target of the shooting.
