A 50-year-old man died Tuesday, three days after he was pinned between a truck and another vehicle near O’Hare International Airport.

Jose Lopez was trying to jump start a truck about 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the 6700 block of North York when the truck surged forward and pinned him against another parked vehicle, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lopez, of the 23900 block of Cahills Way in Plainfield, was taken in critical condition to Lutheran General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

An autopsy Thursday found that Lopez died from his injuries and his death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.
