A teenage boy was wounded in a shooting Wednesday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 17-year-old was standing on the street in the 1600 block of South Harding at 9:35 p.m. when someone shot at him from a vacant lot across the street, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the right leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the boy is a documented gang member.
