Sen. Mark Kirk and Rep. Tammy Duckworth will faceoff in November for the Senate.

WASHINGTON – In fundraising for the expensive Illinois Senate race, Rep. Tammy Duckworth D-Ill., hauled in more than Sen. Mark Kirk R-Ill., in the second quarter of 2016, and has substantially more cash-on-hand.

The rivals released top line numbers for money raised in April, May and June, with the full reports filed with the Federal Election Commission for the last quarter to be released later this month.

Duckworth is continuing the cash lead she has been building up in prior quarters. The Duckworth campaign said she raised more than $2.7 million in the second quarter and has $5.5 million cash-on-hand.

The Kirk campaign said he raised $1,075, 689 and has $3,123,984 cash-on-hand.
