A 19-year-old man was shot and wounded around 1 a.m. Friday by someone who shouted gang slogans and then shot him in the back as he rode in a vehicle in the 8200 block of South Houston in South Chicago, according to the police.

They said he was able to get to South Shore Hospital on his own for treatment.
