A semi-truck loaded with potatoes and apples caught fire on the Indiana Toll Road Wednesday morning in northwest Indiana and spread flames to the Portage Toll Plaza, causing big traffic backups during the morning commte and an estimated $1 million in damage.

All lanes were shut down by the fire but have since reopened, according to the Indiana State Police, which said no one was hurt.

The state police said the truck caught fire while stopped at the toll booths in Portage around 6 a.m. and that the flames spread to an awning.
