The upper and lower levels of the Michigan Avenue Bridge over the Chicago River will close for maintenance work Thursday night.

The bridge will be closed to traffic from 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Motorists headed north on upper Michigan Avenue should turn west on Wacker Drive, north on Dearborn, east on Ohio and then back to Michigan, according to CDOT. Drivers headed south should turn west on Ontario, south on Clark, east on Wacker and back to Michigan.

Drivers using lower Michigan to travel north should use Wacker, Columbus and Ontario to get back to Michigan Avenue, CDOT said. Those headed south should use Illinois, Columbus and Wacker.
