A south suburban man died more than three weeks after he was involved in a crash on Interstate 80 in Lansing.

The crash happened on July 1 on I-80 near Torrence Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Paul Garner, 64, was taken with multiple injuries to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 8:17 p.m. July 25, authorities said. He lived in the 17700 block of Highland Avenue in Homewood.

An autopsy Wednesday ruled his death an accident.

Illinois State Police could not immediately provide more details on the crash.
