A woman in her 30s was rescued by two passers-by and the police after falling or jumping into the Chicago River from a boat downtown Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

They jumped into the river near State Street and Wacker Drive around 4 p.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department, and the Chicago Police Marine Unit then pulled her from the water.

The woman was taken in fair condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
