An 82-year-old woman died after falling to the ground Thursday afternoon during an argument with another woman near U.S. Cellular Field in Bridgeport, authorities say.

A woman opened a car door during the argument shortly before 4 p.m., causing a 38-year-old woman to fall into Pearlie Thomas near her home in the 3600 block of South Wells Street, according to the police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

They said Thomas fell to the pavement, hitting her head, and died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
