Man shot in head in Austin

A man was critically wounded in an Austin neighborhood shooting Friday afternoon on the West Side.

At 1:09 p.m., the 28-year-old was standing on a residential front porch in the 400 block of North Lavergne when a male got out of a dark-colored SUV and shot him in the head, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
