Two people were shot on the Eisenhower Expressway Saturday night on the West Side.

The man and woman were in a vehicle in the inbound lanes of Interstate 290 east of Kostner Avenue at 8:27 p.m. when someone in a light gray Hyundai Sonata began firing into the driver’s side of their vehicle, according to Illinois State Police.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, was shot five times through both legs and the passenger, a 29-year-old woman, suffered a graze wound to the left leg, police said. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said there were no witnesses to the shooting.

Illinois State Police are investigating.
