A man was shot early Monday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

At 1:07 a.m., the 18-year-old was walking north in the 300 block of North Central when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
