Chicago Police are searching for a man who committed two armed robberies about four hours apart Saturday on the Northwest Side.

The robberies happened about 4:35 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Sawyer and about 8:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Elston, according to a community alert from police. During the second robbery, the suspect stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 42 years old, standing between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-4 and weighing about 175 pounds. He was wearing a maroon or burgundy cardigan over a brown polo shirt and gray sweatpants, police said.

He was seen wearing a black baseball cap and a beige, floppy fishing hat.

Police initially said Saturday that there were three carjackings.

Anyone with information should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
