Man shot in Heart of Chicago

A man was shot in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood Monday morning.

The 20-year-old was shot in the armpit at 4:56 a.m. in the 1600 West 18th Street, according to Chicago Police. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized.

Police said the man, a documented gang member, was being uncooperative with investigators and would not give details about the shooting.
